More than 20 fire fighters from different stations across the country learned to identify the most important groups of snakes in the Country, to handle venomous snakes and to capture, remove, and relocate these reptiles in a safe and efficient way, as part of a training workshop offered for free at the Clodomiro Picado Institute (CPI) of the University of Costa Rica, in cooperation with the National School of Fire Fighters.

This course denominated Identification and Handling of Snakes in Costa Rica included the participation of the central stations in San Jose, Guadalupe, Barrio Luján, San Vito, Upala, Orotina, Garabito, Puntarenas, Esparza, Guápiles, San Ramón, Los Chiles, Sarapiquí and Puerto Jiménez.
